The new BAföG amendment will become effective as from winter term 2022/23. The changes mean that more students will be able to receive BAföG in the future than before. You can find out more about the individual improvements here.
BAföG pays off! You receive money from the state and have to pay back half of the money at the maximum later. The 'aid for graduation' (Hilfe zum Studienabschluss) must be paid back in full.
